Our take on all things funny

Top Comedy At Sundance UK

This weekend the inaugural Sundance London Film Festival opens at the O2. Earlier this month, John Cooper, director of  Sundance, explained to The Guardian  “We’re a mission-driven organisation, so we are always looking to extend the audience for American independent films.”

We’re also glad to see some British talent making the shortlist: multi-festival winning short film Tooty’s Wedding, directed by documentary filmmaker Frederic Casella and written by two of the circuit’s finest Laura Solon and Bell Willbond. A feature-length version of this ‘tragi-comedie’ is now in the pipeline, starring the same talented cast of Laura, Ben, Mathew Baynton (Horrible Histories) and Daisy Haggard (Episodes).
